IS- QC E&I Inspector
Your Tasks
The QC Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections, surveillance activities, and witnessing inspection, testing, erection, and installation processes at vendor locations, fabrication facilities and construction sites in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications and applicable international standards.
The incumbent shall ensure compliance with quality requirements for (E&I) Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom disciplines, identify non-conformities, review quality documentation and support the successful execution of project quality objectives.
Responsibility and Authority
- Execute the responsibility of inspection services and activities for Industrial services as per the scope of work
- Conduct stage-wise and final inspection as per relevant code, standard and specification, e.g. IEC, IEEE, ANSI and NEC
- Conduct inspections and witness testing for activities performed by EPC Contractors and Manufacturers in accordance with approved ITPs and project requirements.
- Conduct visual and dimensional Inspection, witnessing FAT/SAT and routine tests of E&I HV/MV/LV materials and equipment
- Review, verify, and endorse compliance with approved drawings, datasheets, ITPs, QCPs, and project specification
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings
- Monitor the performance of Contractor and Manufacturer QC personnel and report any quality concerns.
- Attend and represent the client in QA/QC meetings with contractor(s) at site and yard.
- Perform material receiving inspections and verify compliance with project specifications and approved documentation.
- Witness and inspect fabrication, manufacturing, testing and material verification activities based on equipment criticality and approved inspection requirements
- Perform site inspections for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom installations including:
- Cable laying, glanding, termination, and routing
- Panels, switchgear, transformers, and MCC installations
- Instrument installation (pressure, temperature, flow, level devices)
- Field instruments, control valves, junction boxes
- Telecom systems (CCTV, PA/GA, data networks, fiber optic systems)
- Hazardous areas suitability/certification
- Participate in site completion walkdowns and Punch list clearance
- Witness and verify electrical and instrumentation testing such as:
- Continuity and insulation resistance tests
- Loop checking and calibration
- Functional testing of instruments and control systems
- Fiber optic and telecom testing
- Participate in site completion walkdowns and Punch list clearance
- Report discrepancies, deviations and quality concerns to the Quality Team in a timely manner.
- Identify, report, and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions until satisfactory closure.
- Ensure all inspections and tests and all related project quality records required by project specifications, statutory regulations and quality standards are completed and properly documented.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Instrumentation or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum eight (8) years of relevant QA/QC inspection experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Relevant E&I discipline-specific certifications are preferred such as CompEx, IECEx, ATEX
- Experience in vendor source inspections, manufacturing facilities, construction sites and fabrication yards
- Previous ADNOC project experience will be an added advantage.
- Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, inspection procedures and QA/QC documentation requirements.
- Good communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures and quality records.
- Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to vendor locations, project sites and fabrication facilities within the UAE as required.
