Senior QC Inspector- Mechanical
Your Tasks
The Senior QC Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections, surveillance activities, and witnessing inspection, testing, erection, and installation processes at construction sites, fabrication facilities and vendor locations in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications and applicable international standards.
The incumbent shall ensure compliance with quality requirements for Mechanical, Welding, Painting, Coating, and NDT disciplines, identify non-conformities, review quality documentation and support the successful execution of project quality objectives.
- Report directly to COMPANY Quality Teams and act as the focal point for assigned inspection activities.
- Supervise and manage QC Inspectors and inspection personnel as directed by COMPANY Quality Representatives.
- Review and implement:
• Quality Management System (QMS) Procedures.
• Project Quality Plans (PQP).
• Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
• Method Statements. - Conduct inspections and witness testing for activities performed by EPC Contractors and Manufacturers in accordance with approved ITPs and project requirements.
- Review, verify, and endorse inspection and testing records for compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Monitor the performance of Contractor and Manufacturer QC personnel and report any quality concerns.
- Attend and represent the client in QA/QC meetings with contractor(s) at site and yard.
- Perform material receiving inspections and verify compliance with project specifications and approved documentation.
- Witness and inspect fabrication, manufacturing, testing and material verification activities based on equipment criticality and approved inspection requirements
- Conduct inspections of welding activities, including:

- Review and comment field weld procedures
- Review/witness welding qualification, welders / welding operator’s qualifications tests
- Fit-up and Welding activities.
- Welding consumables and electrode storage.
- Electrode baking and holding records.
- Conduct inspections of painting/coating activities, including:
-
- Coating material verification.
- Surface preparation.
- Application processes.
- Calibration of testing and inspection equipment.
- Review and comment field NDE procedures
- Witness NDT activities and review/endorse NDT results including RT films interpretation and related documentation to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Pressure vessels, heat exchangers receipt, installation plus installation of internals
- Piping fabrication, installation and testing as well as construction of Pipelines and Tanks
- Rotating / reciprocating equipment, receipt, installation including pumps, compressors and turbines.
- Participate in site completion walkdowns and Punch list clearance
- Report discrepancies, deviations and quality concerns to the Quality Team in a timely manner.
- Identify, report, and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions until satisfactory closure.
- Prepare and submit concise:
• Daily Inspection Reports.
• Weekly Inspection Reports.
• Monthly Inspection Reports. - Provide technical guidance and support to inspection personnel to ensure consistent application of quality standards and inspection requirements.
- Review and verify quality records, including but not limited to:

- Material Test Certificates (MTCs)
- Visual and Dimensional Inspection Reports
- NDT Reports
- Performance Test Records
- Hydrostatic Test Records
- Inspection Release Notes
- Other project quality documentation
- Ensure all inspections and tests and all related quality records required by project specifications, statutory regulations and quality standards are completed and properly documented.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum Two- or three-years Technical Diploma or Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding or related discipline.
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant QA/QC inspection experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Relevant discipline-specific certification such as:

- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector.
- BGAS Grade III Coating Inspector.
- NACE Coating Inspector Level I (or higher).
- ASNT Level II NDT Certification or ISO 9712
- Other relevant Mechanical certifications.
- Experience in construction sites, fabrication yards, manufacturing facilities, and vendor source inspections.
- Previous ADNOC project experience will be an added advantage.
- Valid UAE Driving License is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, inspection procedures and QA/QC documentation requirements.
- Good communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures and quality records.
- Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to project sites, fabrication facilities and vendor locations within the UAE as required.
