The Junior Project Manager provides project coordination and administrative support for technical laboratory services, including Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electrical Safety, Wireless, Cybersecurity, and related testing activities. Working under the guidance of Project Managers, Department Managers, and Technical Leads, this role assists in coordinating project schedules, monitoring progress, maintaining project documentation, and supporting communication with customers to help ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Project Coordination & Schedule Support
- Assist in coordinating active projects and tracking progress against established schedules.
- Update project schedules, milestones, and internal tracking systems.
- Monitor project status and communicate potential delays or issues to Project Managers or Department Managers.
- Support scheduling activities to help maintain efficient laboratory workflow.
Communication & Client Support
- Assist with customer communication regarding project status, documentation requests, and scheduled completion dates.
- Coordinate communication between customers, engineering teams, and laboratory personnel.
- Escalate customer concerns or schedule changes to the appropriate Project Manager or Department Manager.
- Maintain professional communication consistent with TÜV SÜD standards.
Project Administration
- Create, update, and maintain projects within internal business systems (e.g., PSE).
- Assist with project setup, scope verification, Invoicing and document management.
- Support preparation of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and project close-out activities.
- Ensure project records remain complete, accurate, and current.
Resource & Workflow Coordination
- Assist with project assignment and workload coordination under the direction of Department Managers or Project Managers.
- Coordinate project information between engineers, technical leads, and administrative staff.
- Help ensure engineering hours, test results, and required documentation are entered in a timely manner.
Process & Continuous Improvemen
- Identify opportunities to improve project coordination and administrative efficiency.
- Assist with implementation of standardized project management processes.
- Participate in departmental process improvement initiatives.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Process purchase requisitions and assist with vendor coordination.
- Support calibration scheduling and maintenance documentation.
- Assist with ordering laboratory, office, and operational supplies.
- Support general laboratory administrative activities as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the TÜV SÜD America vision, mission, and values.

- Cooperate with and support other TÜV SÜD locations as required.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in project coordination, project administration, customer service, laboratory operations, or a technical support environment.
- Internship or cooperative education experience in engineering, laboratory, or project management environments is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a regulated testing or certification environment is preferred but not required.
