Business Development Manager-Food

Your Task:

A. Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and convert potential clients in the food manufacturing, processing, distribution, and hospitality sectors.
  • Generate leads through field visits, networking, referrals, industry events, and digital platforms.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape.

B. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key decision-makers.
  • Understand client needs and propose suitable certification schemes.
  • Provide professional guidance on certification processes, audit cycles, and compliance requirements.

C. Sales Execution & Revenue Achievement

  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotations, and service agreements.
  • Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Conduct price negotiations while adhering to company policies.

D. Compliance & Technical Knowledge

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with impartiality, confidentiality, and accreditation rules.
  • Participate in training, webinars, and internal technical sessions.

E. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare weekly/monthly sales performance reports and sales forecasts.

Track client satisfaction and coordinate feedback reporting

Qualification:

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agriculture, Business Administration, or related fields or MBA
  • 5–15 years of sales experience (preferably in certification, testing, inspection, or food industry).
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards such as ISO 22000, HACCP, FSSC 22000, GMP, etc.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with certification bodies, auditing firms, or food testing laboratories.

Knowledge of ISO processes, accreditation rules (e.g., NABCB), and audit cycles.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and sales closing abilities.
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship management skills.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and explain them in simple terms.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
