Sr. Inspection Engineer - LCC

Role Purpose:

The Sr. Inspection Engineer – LCC is responsible for leading all technical and inspection activities related to lifting equipment, cranes, and conveyor systems. The role ensures full compliance with applicable international standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications while maintaining high levels of safety, technical integrity, and operational efficiency.

Job Summary / Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical inspection activities for lifting equipment including cranes, hoists, winches, lifting accessories, and conveyor systems.
  • Perform and/or supervise detailed inspections, load testing review, condition assessment, and fitness-for-service evaluations.
  • Ensure all inspections are executed in accordance with applicable international standards and codes (e.g., LOLER, ISO, BS, FEM, API where applicable, manufacturer manuals).
  • Review technical findings, measurements, NDT results (if applicable), and verify conformity against acceptance criteria.
  • Approve and validate inspection reports, certificates of thorough examination, and technical dossiers.
  • Provide technical interpretation of inspection results and define repair or corrective action recommendations.
  • Oversee inspection methodologies, procedures, and checklists for LCC equipment.
  • Ensure calibration, traceability, and proper use of inspection tools and measuring equipment.
  • Conduct site inspections for complex lifting operations and critical lifting plans review (as required).
  • Deliver technical training on inspection techniques, defect identification, standards interpretation, and equipment-specific inspection procedures.
  • Support technical audits, internal quality reviews, and accreditation requirements.
  • Provide technical input for tenders, risk assessments, and inspection scopes of work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on experience in inspection of lifting equipment, cranes, and conveyor systems.
  • Strong practical knowledge of inspection techniques including visual inspection, dimensional checks, load testing review, and mechanical integrity assessment.
  • Good understanding of failure modes in lifting systems (fatigue, wear, corrosion, structural defects, wire rope degradation, etc.).
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques (torque tools, ultrasonic thickness measurement, NDT awareness is an advantage).
  • Knowledge of international inspection standards (LOLER, ISO, BS, FEM, API, or equivalent).
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing technical inspection reports and certification documentation.
  • Proven capability in delivering technical training in inspection-related topics.
  • LEEA certifications and NDT Level II certification is a Must.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
  • Good command of English (technical writing and communication).
