1. Role / Qualification of the Applicant
-
BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
-
10–15 years of experience in ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel (BPV) Code inspections
-
Must hold valid ASME Authorized Inspector (AI) credentials
-
Strong working knowledge of:
-
ASME BPV Code (Section I, VIII, IX as applicable)
-
National Board requirements
-
Applicable jurisdictional regulations
-

Proven experience in inspection of boilers, pressure vessels, piping, welding, and testing
-
Background in Third Party Inspection (TPI) and quality assurance environments
-
Strong understanding of welding, NDE, materials, and quality systems
-
Good documentation, reporting, and communication skills
2. Core Activity within Our Company
-
Perform shop and field inspections (internal and external) at critical fabrication and assembly stages
-
Conduct ASME BPV Code inspections to ensure full compliance with ASME, National Board, and jurisdictional requirements
-
Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, and proof testing, as well as required Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE)
-
Verify calibration and validity of inspection and test equipment
-
Maintain the ASME Inspector Diary, documenting daily inspections, findings, and witnessing activities
-
Verify correct use of ASME BPV Code editions, material test reports (MTRs), traceability, and quality records
-
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and design calculations for code compliance
-
Verify WPS, PQR, and welder/operator qualifications, including repair compliance
-
Identify, document, and report non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are closed
-
Confirm all ASME Code requirements are met prior to U-stamp application
-
Verify correct application of nameplates and National Board registration
-
Participate in joint reviews with Certificate Holders and AI Supervisors
