Your Tasks

• Safety Lifecycle Management
  • Lead and participate in all phases of the IEC 61511 safety lifecycle, from hazard and risk analysis to decommissioning.
• Safety Requirements Specification (SRS)
  • Develop and maintain detailed Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS) for Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) based on process hazards and risk assessments.
• SIL Determination and Verification:
  • Conduct and facilitate Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determination studies (e.g., LOPA, Risk Graph) and perform SIL verification calculations (PFDavg) to ensure SIFs achieve the required risk reduction.
• Testing and Validation:
  • Develop and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to validate system functionality and compliance with the SRS. 
  • Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for SIS.
• Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all SIS, including the Functional Safety Management (FSM) plan, SRS, verification reports, and test records.
  • Stay current with updates to IEC 61511 and other relevant standards.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance with functional safety requirements.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in the process industry (e.g., oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation).
• Demonstrable experience with the application of the IEC 61511 standard.
• Strong understanding of process hazards, risk assessment methodologies (HAZOP, LOPA), and risk reduction principles.

• Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP) or Functional Safety Engineer (FSE) certification from a recognized body (e.g., TÜV, exida).
• Experience with specific SIS platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Yokogawa, Honeywell).
• Familiarity with other relevant standards such as IEC 61508, ANSI/ISA 84, and process safety management (PSM) regulations.
• Experience in project management and working with cross-functional teams.
