Commissioing engineer-Instrumentation

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspection activities as per project specifications, approved Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for instrumentation systems and field instruments.
  • Verify installation, calibration, loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning of instrumentation equipment.
  • Review project drawings, P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, and commissioning procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, safety regulations, and project quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams during commissioning activities.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, commissioning records, punch lists, and completion dossiers.
  • Identify and troubleshoot instrumentation-related issues during commissioning and start-up.
  • Monitor project progress and provide daily, weekly, and monthly status reports.
  • Participate in site acceptance tests (SAT), factory acceptance tests (FAT), and performance testing as required.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE requirements and safe work practices at project sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3–10 years of experience in commissioning, inspection, and testing of instrumentation systems in Oil & Gas, Power, Chemical, Petrochemical, Renewable Energy, or Industrial Projects.
  • To carry out insepction as per proejct specification/applicable QAP and codes.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of instrumentation systems, control systems, PLC, DCS, and SCADA.
  • Familiarity with applicable international codes and standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work at project sites.
