Multidiscipline Inspector – Industrial Services
Your Tasks
- Conduct welding inspections (visual and NDT coordination) to ensure compliance with applicable codes such as ASME, AWS, API, ASTM.
- Prepare, review and approve WPS, PQR, and WPQ to ensure welding procedures and qualifications meet project and code requirements.
- Monitor welding activities onsite, including fit-up, alignment, preheat, interpass temperature, consumables control, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT).
- Ensure adherence to project specifications and client quality requirements.
- Coordinate NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT, PMI, Hardness Testing) and review test reports.
- Interpret welding defects, assess acceptability based on applicable codes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Verify material traceability, heat numbers, mill certificates, and consumable batch records.
- Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, surveillance reports, and maintain quality records.
- Participate in QA/QC meetings, welding audits, and contractor evaluations.
- Provide technical support to welders and construction teams on welding-related issues.
- Ensure safety compliance and good engineering practices during all welding operations.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW).
- Familiarity with ISO 3834, ASME Sec. IX, and API codes (especially API 1104, API 570, API 650/653).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, WPS/PQR/WPQR, and NDT results.
- Good reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and technical decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong observation skills.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering (or related field).
- Certification such as CSWIP 3.2 or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in welding inspection, preferably in Oil & Gas or large-scale construction projects.
