Role Summary:
We are seeking an Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) to join our Lead Assessment team in the UAE, undertaking system-level Independent Safety Assessment activities with a focus on integration and interface aspects. The role will be delivered in accordance with CENELEC EN 5012x and our internal assessment methodology and quality standards. Initially, the role will support a Lead Assessor, with a structured progression towards increased independence as competence and experience are demonstrated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Assessor in performing independent system-level safety assessments, particularly for integration and interface aspects
- Assess safety lifecycle processes and evidence for compliance with CENELEC EN 5012x under Lead Assessor guidance
- Independently assess assigned safety documentation as experience develops
- Identify and document assessment findings, non-conformities, and recommendations
- Contribute to independent assessment reports and safety conclusions
- Work within the Lead Assessment team, following internal methodology and quality standards
- Maintain assessor independence from design, implementation, and verification activities
Required Skills & Experience:
- Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
- Experience in railway system assurance and/or railway safety assurance
- Understanding of safety-critical systems and system integration principles
- Knowledge of CENELEC standards (EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129) and ISA concepts
- Strong analytical, review, and technical reporting skills
Preferred:
- Exposure to Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) processes or safety assurance activities
- Evidence of experience on Middle East rail projects (metro, LRT, or mainline rail)
- Familiarity with regional railway approval or assurance environments
