The Shift Engineer - EMC/Wireless performs electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and selected wireless regulatory compliance testing on electronic and wireless products. This onsite role requires hands-on testing experience, technical reporting, customer support, and the ability to work independently during 2nd or 3rd shift.
Your Tasks
- Perform radiated and conducted emissions testing and immunity testing, including ESD, EFT/Burst, surge, radiated and conducted immunity, magnetic field, and voltage dip evaluations.
- Conduct selected wireless regulatory testing for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, IoT, and cellular-enabled products, including RF output power, occupied bandwidth, band-edge measurements, and spurious emissions.
- Set up, operate, verify, and maintain laboratory test equipment and systems while troubleshooting equipment, software, test setup, and product-related issues.
- Prepare, review, and technically verify test data, records, and reports to ensure accurate, complete, and timely deliverables.
- Explain applicable standards, testing procedures, results, and certification requirements to customers and provide appropriate technical recommendations.
- Coordinate project priorities and shift handoffs with laboratory management, project managers, quality personnel, and other engineers while supporting ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and maintaining safe laboratory operations.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical field, or at least three years of relevant EMC testing experience.
- Hands-on experience in an electronics, EMC, RF, wireless, or regulatory testing laboratory environment.
- Working knowledge of EMC principles and applicable FCC, ISED Canada, ETSI, CISPR, IEC 61000 series, and ANSI C63 standards; experience supporting additional international markets is a plus.
- Proficiency with EMC and RF test equipment, including EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, immunity systems, RF amplifiers, antennas, LISNs, and CDNs.
- Ability to independently conduct testing, recognize invalid test conditions, troubleshoot failures, apply technical procedures, and accurately document results using laboratory automation and data-acquisition software.
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, IoT, cellular technologies, and wireless transmitter measurements is preferred, along with strong customer service, communication, organization, and technical writing skills.

Additional Information
- This is a full-time, onsite position assigned to either 2nd shift or 3rd shift based on laboratory operating needs. Schedule adjustments, approved overtime, or weekend work may be required to support customer deadlines and project priorities.
- The anticipated base salary range is $70,000 - $95,000, with a 10% annual bonus target. Actual compensation will be based on relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity.
