Key Responsibilities:
- Support senior metrology engineers in maintaining measurement traceability, calibration accuracy, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Assist with internal and external calibration activities in line with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Contribute to intercomparison activities and proficiency testing to verify measurement performance.
- Support Flow Programme and other project work through data analysis, uncertainty evaluation, and technical reporting.
- Work collaboratively with technical teams to improve metrological practices and apply best‑practice measurement techniques.
- Maintain accurate calibration and traceability records in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
- Assist in the development and updating of standard operating procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve measurement processes, reduce uncertainty, and enhance system efficiency.
Essential criteria:
- Understanding of metrology principles, calibration techniques, and measurement uncertainty.
- Awareness of flow measurement fundamentals, traceability chains, and relevant standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly in data interpretation.
- Good understanding of quality systems, calibration documentation, and laboratory practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn and develop technical capability.
- Awareness of health and safety requirements in laboratory or calibration environments.
- Experience with data analysis, automation or software development using tools such as Python, MATLAB, SQL, or C# / .NET would be beneficial.
