Are you an experienced engineer, auditor, or technical specialist looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience in the Electrical/Electronic industry in Design, Testing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Inspection and/or Certification?

 

At TÜV SÜD, we're seeking an individual with experience in Electrical/Electronic design and manufacturing industry to join our Terminal Quality Management Team as a Lead Auditor & Technical Assessor. You will play a key role in assuring that electronic payment terminals are in conformity with Mastercard technical requirements, and that industry partners have in place robust management systems to verify that every product in the field meets the highest standards of quality, performance and technical compliance. You'll undertake a mix of home-based documentation reviews, remote assessments, and international travel to perform technical audits of client facilities.  

 

The Opportunity

As a Lead Auditor & Technical Assessor, you will play a vital role in verifying that electronic payment terminals comply with industry requirements and that manufacturers maintain robust management systems capable of consistently delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality products. You will engage directly with senior stakeholders, assess complex technical environments, and contribute to the development of new certification and assurance programmes.


This role offers significant opportunities to broaden your expertise across emerging technologies, quality systems, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical audits and assessments against Terminal Quality Management certification requirements, both remotely and onsite.
  • Review technical documentation and quality management systems.
  • Provide guidance to customers on certification requirements and processes
  • Present findings to Senior Management, clearly explaining the requirements and timescales.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and maintain supporting documentation
  • Manage corrective action processes and support customers in closing audit findings
  • Liaise with the Assessment Body and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of certifications
  • Attend technical committee meetings and industry events
  • Support the development and delivery of new technical assessment and certification schemes.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Quality Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in a technical industry
  • Experience conducting 2nd and/or 3rd party audits, technical assessments, or inspections
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally, with a full UK driving licence
  • A genuine interest in continuous learning and professional development, and a desire to learn new competencies and gain appointments in certification and regulatory schemes.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience within Electronics Design / Manufacturing / Information Technology Sectors / Health & Safety
  • Interest in Cybersecurity, AI, and new technologies
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience working within certification, regulatory, or conformity assessment environments.
  • Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 27001.
  • Additional certifications relating to quality management, compliance, or auditing.
