Greenhouse Gas Specialist

Your Tasks

  • Act as a lead auditor for GHG project validations and verifications, mandatory GHG reporting, corporate GHG inventories, and other related environmental assessments.
  • Support competency assessments and document knowledge, training and other gained experience.
  • Act as a knowledge leader for specific programs, disseminating information to the group and working to develop improvements and changes as needed
  • Be able and willing to travel globally (primarily North America) for work.
  • Follow any other instructions and perform any other related duties as may be required

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Environmental Science or other related Degree
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience with GHG accounting, and/or performing GHG verifications and/or developing GHG emissions inventories or offset projects in one or more of the following programs:
    • Low Carbon Fuels: Canada CFR, LCFS Programs (California, Oregon, Washington), GREET
    • Carbon Offsets: ACR, Alberta, British Columbia, California ARB, CDM, Cercarbono, Climate Action Reserve, Gold Standard, ICR, Verified Carbon Standard
    • GHG Reporting: Airport Carbon Accreditation, Alberta TIER, British Columbia MRR, California ARB, CDP, Canada OBPS, CORSIA, GHG Protocol, Mexico RENE/ETS, Ontario MRR, The Climate Registry
  • Preferred:
    • Lead Verifier Certification(s).
    • Graduate level degree in Engineering or Science.
    • Experience and knowledge with heavy industry processes.
    • Experience with low carbon fuels
    • Experience with carbon footprint of products, carbon neutrality, net zero, carbon intensity metrics
    • Knowledge of GHG policy frameworks and reporting programs in U.S., Canada, and Mexico

Additional Information

  • The anticipated annual base pay range for this full-time position is $75,000 – $115,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on various factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target, subject to eligibility and other requirements. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to employees, including a 401(k) plan with employer match, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 2 weeks for other parents, health plans (medical, dental, and vision), life insurance and disability, and generous paid time off.
