We are seeking a Inspector to support the SCDF Product Listing Scheme (PLS) certification activities for Scheme 5 and Scheme 2 products. The role involves conducting factory and product inspections, surveillance activities, technical assessments, and ensuring continued compliance with applicable standards and SCDF requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial, periodic and surveillance inspections of manufacturing facilities under applicable Product Listing and certification schemes.
• Assess manufacturing processes, production controls, quality systems and product conformity against applicable standards and certification requirements.
• Review technical documents including test reports, product specifications, drawings and quality records during factory and site inspections.
• Conduct product sampling and coordinate samples for testing where required.
• Identify and document non-conformities, evaluate corrective actions and follow up on closure.
• Prepare clear, accurate and timely inspection reports and supporting records.
• Monitor surveillance schedules to ensure inspections are completed within the required certification cycle.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams on inspection requirements and technical findings.
• Support continuous improvement and digitalisation of inspection processes.

Key Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Building & Construction, Materials Science or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant experience in product inspection, testing, certification, quality assurance, manufacturing or conformity assessment.
• Experience with Product Listing, product certification or regulatory certification schemes is advantageous.
• Good understanding of technical standards, manufacturing processes, quality systems and product conformity.
• Able to interpret technical drawings, product specifications and test reports.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and sound technical judgement.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
• Willing to travel locally and overseas for factory inspections.
