Consultant Engineer, Fire

Your Tasks

  • Conduct fire protection and loss control surveys across a wide range of client facilities and industries in South Africa
  • Identify fire and associated risks and provide clear, practical recommendations to reduce loss exposure
  • Perform machinery integrity and business interruption (B&M) assessments, including maintenance and reliability program reviews
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and communicate findings to clients in a clear and actionable manner
  • Provide guidance on fire codes, standards, and regulatory requirements applicable in South Africa
  • Deliver training and technical support to clients and internal teams where required
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, including risk managers, engineers, and senior leadership

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, or related discipline)
  • Demonstrated experience in fire protection engineering, risk engineering, or loss prevention
  • Sound knowledge of fire protection systems, risk assessment practices, and industrial operations
  • Strong report writing and communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and manage client relationships effectively
  • Experience with maintenance and reliability programs is advantageous
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within South Africa and occasionally internationally

  • Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Travel: Frequent travel to client sites across South Africa is required
  • Reporting Line: Reports to the District Manager
  • Work Model: Field-based with hybrid flexibility depending on client requirements
