Your Tasks:
- Define and implement a global public affairs and public policy strategy for medical device and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) regulation.
- Monitor, analyse and interpret political, legislative and regulatory developments at EU, national and international level and translate them into strategic foresight, impact assessments and position papers for executive management.
- Lead and coordinate advocacy, lobbying and stakeholder engagement with EU institutions, national ministries, regulatory authorities and industry associations, representing the organization in hearings, working groups and high‑level policy dialogues.
- Act as a strategic spokesperson on medical device and IVD policy towards policymakers, authorities, trade associations, think tanks and international organisations, while building and maintaining a strong international political network.
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent, compliant and ethically sound policy positions; provide political and policy intelligence, executive briefings and strategic updates for senior leadership.
- Lead and develop the Regulatory Strategy team (Regulatory Strategy Principals, EU‑funded Projects Manager, Regulatory Strategy Coordinator(s)) and integrate part‑time contributors from other departments to align policy‑making activities across the business unit.
Your Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in law, public policy, political science, European studies, engineering, life sciences or a related field.
- Several years of experience in political affairs, public policy, regulatory policy or government relations, ideally in a regulated technology or healthcare environment.
- Proven track record in advocacy and policy influence within complex regulatory systems, with hands‑on experience working with EU institutions, national governments and/or international organisations.
- Strong understanding of institutional roles and interfaces between policymakers, regulators and conformity assessment bodies, ideally with in‑depth knowledge of international medical device and IVD regulation.
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to anticipate regulatory trends several years ahead and to condense complex political developments into clear strategic options for executive decision‑making
- Demonstrated leadership experience in knowledge‑intensive, international environments, with strong stakeholder management, consensus‑building and communication skills across cultures and regions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a strong asset
