Senior Product Specialist (SPS) Mechanical (f/m/d)

Due to the upcoming retirement of the current incumbent, the Technical Competence Centre of TÜV SÜD Product Service division is looking to appoint a Senior Product Specialist (SPS) – Mechanical, effective 1 November 2026.

 

Tasks:

  • Acting as the technical expert for certification and operational departments.
  • Coordinating TÜV SÜD expert communities and ensuring structured knowledge transfer across regions.
  • Driving harmonization of technical interpretations and testing practices across regions.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Participating in international and European standardization, experience exchange committees of the ZLS (Zentralstelle der Länder für Sicherheitstechnik) and industry committees.
  • Interpreting standards, regulations, and certification requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining technical guidance documents, interpretations, and decision papers for global use.
  • Supporting technical decision-making and conformity assessments.
  • Supporting the resolution of escalated complex technical and regulatory issues.
  • Delivering technical training globally and maintaining training materials.
  • Reviewing and releasing test methods, programs, and protocols.
  • Contributing to personnel authorization and competency development. 

 

Qualifications:

  • A degree in mechanical engineering or comparable education
  • Several years of professional experience and expertise in several of the following areas: STORE: Devices for storage and transport equipment used for the internal transport of goods on the floor MHOUS: Mechanical household equipment MTOOLS: Mechanical tools (incl. garden tools) SAN: Sanitary equipment Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (GPSR)
  • Experience with global projects, international teams, and relevant standards (ISO/EN)
  • Excellent English skills and intercultural competence
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex topics and prepare reports and presentations
  • Experience in creating training concepts, technical guidance, or knowledge-management content.
  • Ability to lead expert networks or cross-functional technical communities.
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • The willingness to travel
  • Strategic thinking and an understanding of global trends
