About TÜV SÜD

At TÜV SÜD, we are dedicated to inspiring trust in technology and enabling progress. As a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services, we help clients ensure the safety, compliance, and performance of their products. Our Medical Device Testing division supports manufacturers worldwide in bringing safe and innovative products to market.

Position Overview

The Account Executive drives new business growth in the medical device testing sector by identifying opportunities, building strategic relationships, and guiding prospects through the buying process. You will collaborate with multiple Solutions Engineers, each specializing in different areas of testing and regulatory compliance, to deliver tailored, technically sound solutions.

In this team-selling model, you’ll own the relationship, discovery, and commercial strategy while coordinating the right technical and project resources for each opportunity. Beyond the sale, you will maintain close contact with Project Managers to ensure project success, track timelines, and safeguard client satisfaction from kick-off to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Pipeline Growth

  • Identify, prospect, and engage with medical device manufacturers, suppliers, and innovators to create new opportunities.
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities through structured outreach and networking.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospects and customers throughout the sales cycle.
  • Lead discovery conversations to uncover client needs, challenges, and business drivers.
  • Match each opportunity to the appropriate Solutions Engineer(s) based on technical requirements.
  • Build trust with client stakeholders, from engineers to executive leadership.

Sales Execution

  • Partner with Solutions Engineers to deliver technically accurate proposals and compelling value propositions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate client meetings, technical presentations, and proposal reviews.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals in alignment with TÜV SÜD standards and profitability goals.
  • Ensure smooth handoff to Project Managers and delivery teams once contracts are signed.

Post-Sale Project Coordination

  • Work closely with Project Managers to monitor project progress, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.
  • Stay informed about project status to proactively address any client concerns.
  • Serve as the client’s advocate during the execution phase, escalating issues when needed to maintain quality and satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Maintain strong working relationships with multiple Solutions Engineers across specialties (e.g., biocompatibility, electrical safety, performance testing, regulatory review).
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure each opportunity is addressed with the right expertise.
  • Share client feedback and market insights with technical teams and leadership to inform service development.

Market & Industry Awareness

  • Stay informed on medical device regulatory changes, emerging technologies, and competitor activities.
  • Represent TÜV SÜD at conferences, trade shows, and industry networking events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, account management, or sales, preferably in medical devices, regulated industries, or technical services.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to engage at multiple organizational levels.
  • Skilled at coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work closely with Project Managers to ensure on-time, successful project delivery.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%) for client meetings and events.

Why Join Us?

  • Collaborate with a team of specialized Solutions Engineers and Project Managers to deliver best-in-class services.
  • Play a pivotal role in expanding TÜV SÜD’s footprint in the medical device sector.
