Job Summary

The Inspection Engineer – MEP will be responsible for carrying out Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) inspections at project sites in accordance with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, approved drawings, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and client requirements. The role ensures compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements throughout the construction and installation phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspection activities for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works as per applicable codes, standards, project specifications, approved drawings, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Verify the quality of materials, equipment, installation, and workmanship at site.
  • Ensure inspections are performed in accordance with client requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Review technical documents, drawings, material approvals, method statements, and inspection requests prior to inspection.
  • Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams to resolve inspection-related issues.
  • Witness testing and commissioning activities of MEP systems where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements while performing inspection activities.
  • Update inspection status and documentation through client portals or project management systems.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical support related to quality and inspection activities.
  • Report critical quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Additional certification in Quality Management or Inspection will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in inspection, QA/QC, or construction supervision of MEP works.
  • Experience in commercial buildings, industrial plants, infrastructure, oil & gas, or data center projects will be preferred.
  • Experience with third-party inspection agencies or EPC contractors is desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge of MEP systems, installation practices, and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with applicable international and national standards such as IS, NBC, IEC, NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, SMACNA, and project-specific specifications.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and preparation of technical reports.
