Role Purpose
The Inspection Engineer will be responsible for carrying out third-party inspection, quality surveillance, and expediting activities for mechanical/electrical equipment in line with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications for Vedanta projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform third-party inspections at vendor/manufacturer works for materials, equipment, and systems
- Review QAPs, ITPs, drawings, specifications, and applicable standards
- Conduct inspections at various stages:
- Raw material inspection
- In-process inspection
- Final inspection and testing
- Witness and verify NDT, hydro tests, pressure tests, FAT, and performance tests
- Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, IS, IEC, etc.)
- Prepare and submit inspection reports, release notes, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Coordinate with vendors, clients, and project teams for inspection planning and closures
- Support expediting activities to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Ensure adherence to HSE and quality requirements at inspection sites
Equipment / Discipline Coverage (as applicable)
- Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers
- Piping, Valves, Flanges
- Structural Steel
- Rotating Equipment (Pumps, Compressors – exposure preferred)
- Electrical Panels, Cables, Transformers (for Electrical Inspectors)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Metallurgy / Civil Engineering
- Relevant certifications preferred (NDT Level II, AWS-CWI, API, CSWIP, etc.)
Experience & Skills
- 5–10 years of experience in Inspection / QA-QC / Third Party Inspection
- Experience in Mining, Oil & Gas, Power, Metals, or Heavy Engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of inspection procedures and documentation
- Good communication and reporting skills
Willingness to travel extensively across vendor locations
