Vedanta- Quantity Surveyor - E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation)

Job Purpose:

To carry out Quantity Surveying activities for Electrical & Instrumentation works as per contract requirements, ensuring cost control, billing accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Contract & Tender Understanding

  • Study contract documents, BOQ, technical specifications, and drawings.
  • Ensure all work is executed as per contract requirements and scope of work.
  • Identify deviations, variations, and extra claims.

🔹 Quantity Take-Off & Measurement

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for Electrical & Instrumentation works.
  • Verify site measurements in coordination with the execution team.
  • Maintain measurement sheets and proper documentation.

🔹 Billing & Invoicing

  • Prepare Client RA Bills (Running Account Bills).
  • Prepare and certify subcontractor bills.
  • Track certification status and follow up with clients.

🔹 Cost Control & Budget Monitoring

  • Monitor budget vs actual cost.
  • Identify cost overruns and provide corrective inputs.
  • Maintain cost reports and cash flow statements.

🔹 Variation & Claims Management

  • Prepare variation orders and change notes.
  • Support preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims.
  • Maintain proper records for contractual claims.

🔹 Coordination

  • Coordinate with site execution, planning, and procurement teams.
  • Liaise with client representatives for measurement and billing approvals.
  • Support audits and documentation reviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • 5–12 years of experience in EPC / Oil & Gas / Power / Infrastructure projects

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of BOQ, rate analysis & contract clauses
  • Expertise in E&I measurement standards
  • Good understanding of MS Excel & ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Strong negotiation and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of FIDIC contract terms (preferred)
