Job Purpose
The Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day on-site engineering activities, conducting inspections, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring project execution as per technical standards, timelines, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. On-Site Inspection

Conduct routine inspections of project sites to ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, technical standards, and safety guidelines.

Monitor construction activities, contractor performance, and adherence to project specifications.

Identify deviations or issues and provide corrective recommendations to contractors.
2. Report Preparation

Prepare detailed daily/weekly/monthly site inspection reports.

Document progress, site observations, quality checks, and compliance status.

Maintain proper records of site photographs, checklists, and technical notes.
3. Meeting Clients
-
Coordinate and attend regular meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

Present progress updates, site challenges, and technical clarifications.

Ensure smooth communication between client, contractors, and internal project teams.
4. Preparation of Recommendation for Payment & Contractor Invoices

Review contractor performance, completed work quantities, and measurement books (MB).

Prepare technical recommendations for contractor payments based on actual work completed.

Verify and endorse contractor invoices before submission to the project manager for approval.
Additional Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with project safety protocols and statutory norms.

Support project planning, scheduling, and quality assurance activities.

Coordinate material testing, quality checks, and verification processes.

Assist in resolving on-site technical issues in coordination with engineering teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
-
Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (as per project requirement).

5–12 years of experience in site engineering, construction supervision, or project execution (preferably infrastructure/rail/road/industrial projects).

Strong knowledge of site inspection methods, quality standards, and safety practices.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.

Ability to work independently at project sites and handle multiple contractors.
Preferred Experience

Experience in government / infrastructure projects such as PWD, Smart City, Metro, Railways, etc.

Familiarity with billing, quantity assessment, and invoice certification.
