Tasks:

• Contribute to the evolution of the database platform architecture (primarily on-premises, with a growing focus on hybrid and Microsoft Azure scenarios).
• Design, implement, and continuously improve High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts for business-critical database systems
• Drive the continuous improvement, standardization, and automation of existing database platforms.
• Contribute hands-on to the operation and evolution of core platform components and tooling where required.
• Contribute to and further develop central services such as database monitoring, license management, and standardized server models.
• Provide deep technical expertise for complex incidents and support the resolution of operational and architectural challenges.
• Steer and technically guide external service providers and vendors, including Oracle and Microsoft.
• Ensure secure and compliant operation of database platforms in close collaboration with IT Security, Infrastructure, and Development teams.
• Support internal customers as a technical advisor in the evolution and modernization of existing database infrastructures.

Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in either MS SQL Server or Oracle; familiarity with the other technology is a plus.
• Solid hands-on expertise in MS SQL Server and/or Oracle database administration and operations.
• Experience with High Availability, Backup & Recovery, monitoring, and performance optimization in database environments.
• Experience in operating and evolving existing database landscapes in complex enterprise environments.
• Basic experience with cloud technologies (ideally Microsoft Azure) or interest in working with hybrid scenarios.
• Ability to take ownership of topics, work independently, and contribute to the continuous improvement of platforms.
• Experience working with external vendors or service providers is a plus.
• Good understanding of security, compliance, and operational risk in database environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Language requirements: English and German (mandatory); additional languages (e.g. Hungarian) are a plus.
