Associate Engineer (Cable Testing)

Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible in supporting the team with test services on cable products.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customers’ feedback and enquiry
  • Perform and evaluate tests on power cables to International Standards as well as fiber optic testing and new business areas.
  • Prepare Work Instructions, test and inspection reports
  • Collaborate with vendors and other departments to resolve engineering issues or testing requirements
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure smooth execution of projects
  • Maintain and upkeep test facilities and equipment
  • Undertake process improvement projects on testing facilities and services on a yearly basis
  • Liaise with calibration bodies on calibration issues and manage all equipment’s’ calibration
  • Project planning to ensure the project meets the deadline
  • Participate in ISO/IEC 17025 audit yearly
  • Provide professional advice or solutions to customers
  • Travel for overseas project occasionally

  • Ability to take on short-term travel within ASEAN region.

Key Competencies

  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC17025 standards with prior experience in quality control and the test industry will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work and handle heavy equipment as part of testing and operational requirements.
  • Ability to understand technical documentation written in Chinese and communicate with Chinese-speaking clients when required.
  • Result and service-oriented individuals who possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Proactive team player but with the ability to work independently in challenging projects and timelines.
  • Enthusiastic and resourceful with a “can-do” attitude

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics Engineering or related studies
  • Preferably 2 years of working experience will be an added advantage
  • Candidates with no experience are welcome to apply
  • Mandarin-speaking is a requirement for this role
