Associate Consultant

Associate Consultant, Fire (TUV SUD America, Inc.; Wakefield, MA): Conduct property loss control surveys to evaluate property and business interruption exposures at client facilities based on NFPA Standards and others as appropriate; Develop recommendations based on standards, including loss estimates before and after completion of the recommendations; Evaluate automatic fire protection and water supply systems; Report and evaluate building construction, occupancy, special, and natural hazards; Develop loss estimates based on scenarios such as Maximum Foreseeable Loss; Provide services to clients including training, loss control program development, and code or regulatory interpretation; and Provide project management services including special visits, plan reviews, and oral/written presentations to clients; Participate in regular advanced and continued training to enhance knowledge of the job and refine skills.  Position based at Company HQ: 401 Edgewater Place, Suite 500, Wakefield, MA 01880; Position is 100% remote from anywhere in U.S. Up to 50% domestic/international travel required to conduct surveys at client sites.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a related Engineering field.

Must have: Demonstrated proficiency in using data analysis tools and software like Excel to manage, interpret, and analyze data; Demonstrated proficiency in acquiring science-related data and information in the field or through written documentation for the application of chemical engineering and related fields including safety of hazardous materials- flammables and toxic materials, and prevention of incidents in laboratories; Demonstrated ability to write clear and persuasive reports, letters, and other technical documents; Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling, and managing budgets for projects effectively to ensure projects are managed and completed on time to meet client expectations and requirements; Demonstrated ability to effectively convey complex ideas to clients and funding agencies; Demonstrated ability to take on leadership roles for managing projects, research teams, collaborative research and industry funded research; Demonstrated ability to understand and empathize with the needs and perspectives of funding agencies including industry sponsors and government/public funding agencies; and Demonstrated ability to be flexible and open to adjusting to different circumstances, industries, and public funding agencies. (Unless otherwise indicated, the employer is seeking the ability in the skills listed above with no specific number of years of experience required. All experience can be gained concurrently.)

Salary: $114,546 to 115,000 / year
